self reliance

in the story self reliance emerson wants every body to accept themselves for who they are just the way they were made. emerson says nobody on this earth was made like you God created you to guide or be guided and you have something to offer that no one else has. in today’s society individualism is something that does not get much praise. everyone wants to fit in so instead of being your own person standing on whatever you believe in we rather do whatever one else is doing no matter if it benefits us at all. with today’s technology and all the social media we have no choice but to feed into the hype. we all want to be somebody in the world we want to be liked, we want others to follow us we pretty much want to be whatever thing is popular. the way our government is setup they definitely dont want us to step outside the box and be our own person they want to control us more than anything.
